The wonderful Lindsey Stirling

Lindsey Stirling is one of those rare artist that come around that changes the way you see a genre of music. She has been around for a while as a hip-hop violinist, has performed in America's Got Talent (before Howard Stern) and her popularity has gone up as a dubstep violinist. On May 16th 2012, she played the Studio at Webster Hall making her debut.

here is lindsey in her America's got talent performance
Dubstep music, is a genre that is male driven by the likes of Skrillex, Mt Eden, Bass Nectar, etc and my experiences of going to clubs that play dubstep are mostly teenage boys moshing to the hard beats. Seeing this at a Lindsey Stirling show makes me ecstatic that a beautiful petite violin player can make the boys spazz out with her brand of class and charm in a genre that a lot of people are turned off by. Lindsey injects class and beauty to a genre that can easily get stale by the repetitive sound.
