Fawn Segerson, is an aspiring singer/songwriter in NYC. I have spent some quality time with this beautiful soul and gorgeous person. Her album titled "Fawn" is such a beautiful and addicting album of various flavors put in songs. I been listening to it for few months now and it still captivates, I love Fawn's voice is like when you were a child and mom sang lullabies to put you at ease.
1. How long have you been playing piano?
My parents gave me piano lessons when I was about 6 and I haven't stopped since. We had my grandma's old ivory keyed upright piano in our house...it will always be my favorite piano...
2. Singer songwriter, what comes first the lyrics or the melody?
I'd say it's case by case, but I generally come up with a phrase or a message I like and build a song around it. Lately I've been doing the reverse though, come up with a chord progression I like and then build around that...it's still a mystery to me.
3. What do you like to do for fun?
I'm a simpleton, I really like going to the beach, going for walks, anything peaceful
4. Talk to me about how Tough Enough underwear came to be?
I played the Montauk music festival last year and was trying to order some cool merchandise to sell rather then just a mug or something so I came across this customized underwear company which I'm pretty sure people use for bachelorette parties but I decided to order some tough enough underwear...
5. How many albums, Lps, ep's do you have?
My first album is called "scrambled reflections" I recorded it right out of college in my home town. It was my graduation present from my parents. Then I slowly finished my second album, "take two" after I quit my corporate job. And then I met Andrew Morse, the creator of Stand Clear and we did my third album under his label, self titled "Fawn".
6. What type of genre would you describe your music?
I don't know...vintage Indie pop. My friend recently advertised me as "if you like looking at Marilyn Monroe, listening to Norah Jones, and experiencing something original" you'll like Fawn.
7. What is this drug story about?
I wrote it during a thunderstorm one day about a friend who was quite enamored with Mary Jane. Then I brought it to the studio and finished writing it and recording it with one of my co-writers Stefan Moessle.
8. This song you gave us. A sneak preview is amazing . What is the name? Are you preparing a single or video? Sounds like a Tarantino movie.
I think you're referring to my song "The Cave". That's the opening track on "Fawn" and yes there is a video coming out for it that we filmed down in Clarksdale Mississippi (at the crossroads). And anyone, feel free to give it to Tarantino...
9.you play the piano and ukulele what other instruments you play?
I've been know to butcher the organ at some church services.
10. You mentioned playing New Orleans, what other places have you performed besides New York and what is the response from the audience.
I've played in Atlantic city and wineries in the tristate area.
When I was in Paris I did a quick little gig. I always appreciate when at least one person really pays attention. I found it's so important to find venues that support what your music is about otherwise you can get swallowed.
11. How many times a day do people tell you that you look like Marylin Monroe.
[laughs] well I'd rather they be shouting Fawn but it is quite the compliment. It varies.

Hope this place turns out good. It’s great that this venue offers services such as catering, lighting, tables and chairs, table linen and parking. I am here to choose location for my event, glad to know that the venue New York do not put any restrictions regarding music played.
